Methi Dal
Ingredients

1⁄2 cup chana dal

1⁄4 cup toor dal

1⁄4 cup moong (yellow) dal

1⁄4 cup masoor (pink) dal

16 oz frozen or fresh methi
-
1 small onion, diced
-
1 teaspoon ginger, grated

4 teaspoons salt
-
1 teaspoon black pepper whole

2 teaspoons paanch phoron (bengali 5 spice mix)

1 teaspoon degi mirch or crushed red pepper

1 teaspoon haldi (turmeric)

1 teaspoon garam masala
Directions

Add 1 tablespoon mustard oil in the instant pot and saute the onions until caramelized.

Add ginger, paanch phoron, black pepper.

Add the dals, and methi, spice powders.
-
Add 12 cups water, and pressure cook for 4-5 minutes.

Serve with rice and a side of steamed vegetables.
