Raspberry Habanero Jam

This makes a great appetizer spooned over cheese and served with crackers! Works even better when used to make grilled cheese sandwiches!

Ingredients

  • 4-5 habanero peppers, diced
  • 2 sweet red peppers, diced
  • 5 cups fresh raspberries
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 lemon, juice and zest

Directions

  • In a heavy bottom saucepan, combine the berries lemon juice, zest and sugar.
  • Heat on medium setting until the sugar dissolves. Allow the mixture to come to a boil.
  • Keep stirring to prevent scorching and mashing the berries with a ladle.
  • Add the diced peppers.
  • Continue to cook until the mixtures visibly thickens.
  • Perform the spoon test to test the consistency.
  • Remove the jam pot from heat and allow to cool.
  • Sterilize glass containers for canning.
  • Pour the jam in sterlized glass containers and store in the fridge.
